The Feed Mill was built in 1969. The staff consists of a Facility Coordinator, an assistant and typically 2-3 students every year. Approximately 100 feed ingredients go into more than 2,500 tons (5 million pounds) of feed annually.

Our Purpose

The primary purpose of the Feed Mill is to produce high quality feed and mineral supplements for the various teaching and research animal units associated with the Department of Animal and Food Sciences. The Feed Mill also provides students the opportunity to gain experience in the purchase and storage of feed ingredients and the manufacturing and delivery of livestock feeds.
