Our Facility

The Charles and Linda Cline Equine Teaching Center is a state-of-the-art equine teaching facility located on approximately 60 acres, including six native and bermuda grass pastures that range in size from five to 20 acres.
The equine facility has a teaching barn, small indoor arena, outdoor arenas, classrooms, feed and tack rooms, a wash rack, and treatment area, as well as a building dedicated to the breeding program.
The facility is located at 2601 West McElroy, Stillwater, Oklahoma 74074.

Our Purpose

The Charles and Linda Cline Equine Teaching Center is primarily used for teaching purposes. Students attend classes at our facility and are able to get hands-on training. We offer an outstanding equine breeding and foaling program. Extension equine events are also hosted at our facility. We have horses available for sale each year.

About Us

Our Land

The equine facility has a teaching barn, small indoor arena, outdoor arenas, classrooms, feed and tack rooms, a wash rack, and treatment area, as well as a building dedicated to the breeding program.

In addition to the Cline Center, other equine buildings include a 30’ x 85’ concrete block building that serves as a breeding shed, a 30’ x 50’ pole barn with three 16’ x 16’ stallion stalls, and 10,000 square feet of exercise paddocks.

An additional 100 acres off-site are used for grazing, production and additional acreage for producing hay.

Our Herd

The equine herd is primarily Quarter Horses, with the size fluctuating year to year based on the number of offspring. These horses are used for a variety of activities encompassing research, teaching and Extension. The goal is for every horse to be used in some activity.

All broodmares and stallions have been secured through donations or raised from donated stock. Each year, some of the mares are bred to the top sires in the industry, again on a donation basis, in an effort to raise high-quality horses as replacements, for use in class and for sale.

Our Teaching

A variety of equine related courses are held at our equine center. Students interested in an equine related career can pursue a degree in animal science. We also offer a certificate program in Equine Enterprise Management.

Students are able to gain hands-on experience at our facility through classes, internships and employment. This gives them the opportunity to participate in equine breeding, foaling, marketing, sales preparation, and more at our facility.
